Doctor Dee and the Monkey (Copy)

Made in Cambridge, England (2012) as a representation of John Dee (1527-1609), English mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, occult philosopher, and advisor to Queen Elizabeth I. Cast at Arch Bronze foundry, London  (2012). Recently rebased in black/white marble and extensively and unusually repatinated by Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli, Florence (2016). No copies currently in existence. Original viewable at Keil Art Bronze gallery, Florence. Weight > 35 kg. Dimensions 50 x 30 x 53 cm comprising figure 41 x 23 x 48 cm and separable base 50 x 30 x 5 cm.
